Best Time to Visit Sandakphu-Singalila Ridge
March to May (Spring): This is a fantastic time to go. The weather is cool and clear, perfect for trekking. The rhododendron forests are in full bloom, adding bright colours to the landscape. You’ll have great views of the Himalayan peaks.
September to November (Autumn): After the monsoon rains, the skies are clear and the air is fresh. The weather is mild and comfortable for trekking, and you’ll enjoy fewer crowds on the trail.
Avoid trekking Sandakphu-Singalila Ridge in winter (December to February) due to freezing temperatures, heavy snow, and icy trails. The harsh conditions can make trekking difficult and risky, with reduced visibility and added challenges.
Sandakphu Singalila ridge Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Train station and transfer to Darjeeling the queen of hills (2,130 meters), 4 hours-90km.
Day 2: Drive from Darjeeling to Rimbeek. Trek to Gurdum via black forest 7,150 ft.(10 km-4 hours)
Day 3: Trek from Gurdum to Sandakphu 11,950 ft (13 kms/7 hours)
Day 4: Trek from Sandakphu to Phalut 11,900 ft. (21 km -7 hours)
Day 5: Trek from Phalut to Gorkey 7,700 ft (14 kms/6 hours)
Day 6: Trek from Gorkhey to Timburey 6,550 ft. (15 km/ 5 hours)
Day 7: Trek from Timburey to Srikhola (5 km). Drive back to Darjeeling.
Day 8: Explore Darjeeling Local Culture Tour.
