Top notch guys at Ashmita. Starting from my first interaction with Subhas - the very hands on owner and head of this company. He was very flexible in customizing a 2 day solo trek on the Sandakhphu trail in the region. He is an experienced trekker and climber in the region. We completed the six day Singalila Ridge trek with Ashmita Travel today. Subash was excellent on the admin ahead of the trip and a pleasure to deal with. Our guide, Pemba Sherpa was absolutely outstanding - his attention to detail in ensuring all of our needs were met (pace of walking, hot water bottles, tea and snacks, bamboo sticks for getting through the snow, warm water for bucket baths) was exemplary! My girlfriend and I did a 1-day trek with Ashmita in March 2017. We hiked to Tongluk on the India-Nepal border. Our guide, Sangay, was totally awesome. He was so professional and knowledgeable. He knew the trails, the types of trees and flowers, all about Tibetan Buddhism, and about relations between India and Nepal. He answered all of our questions while we trekked. My wife and I had an amazing trek for 6 days on the Singalila Ridge in Feb. It was very cold but the warmth of our guide, the people who hosted us, the amazing scenery all made up for it. Thanks Sangay for being an exceptional guide. We would highly recommend this trek. continue reading

We completed the Singalila Ridge 6 day hike on Feb. 3. Sangay was our guide. He was fabulous. Very informed, very attentive and professional. If we trek again with Ashmita we would ask for Sangay. It was a wonderful hike in the Himalayas!! continue reading
