Subash was very approachable and answered all my questions before heading off on the trek. My guide Pemba was very knowledgeable and attentive during the whole hike and couldn't have done more. We were very lucky to have snow and clear blue skies at sunrise at Sundakphu giving us awesome views over the whole mountain range. Ashmita Tours is a very professional outfit. continue reading

Subash organised a 2-day trek for us along the Singalila Ridge, part walking, part Land Rover, to see the sunrise over the Himalayas from Sandakphu. Our guide was excellent, always courteous and helpful, even offering to carry our sleeping bags as we only had day rucksacks with us. I was having trouble finding a company to arrange transfers up to Darjeeling and organise a driver for us when we were there. Luckily I found Ashmita Trek and Tours. Subash the owner was a pleasure to deal with and the trip all went smoothly. The driver was waiting for us at the airport and drove us the 4 hours up to Darjeeling. Right from the beginning Subash and his team at Ashmita trek were helpful and flexible- answering all my questions, quickly via email, and adjusting the schedule and route to fit in with our plans/preferences.We were a party of 5 friends in our late 20s- 30s. We did the 4 day Sandakphu trek with Ashmita in Dec 15. Our guide was great, always helping & providing tea, hot water, knee support bandages(!), everything we required. Subash was very attentive before & after the trek, checking everything was ok and that we were happy. Accommodation was probably the best available on the trek; sleeping bags provided were high quality. Absolutely no reservations about recommending Subash and Ashmita Treks and Tours. Excellent 4 day trek. Subhash met us before the trek to explain the trek in detail. Our guide Rajen was also very helpful and the tea accomodation in the houses was also quiet nice given the location. The last day of the trek stay at Timburay was very nice, a small village consisting of just 7-8 houses, was perfect place to stay after finishing the trek.
