  • My Experience with Ashmita

    Indranil Bhattacharjee, India - January 11, 2016

I used Ashmita Trek and Tours for my travel to Darjeeling during Dec 2014. We were a group of 6, we two, our two kids and my parents...I contacted Subash over mail and explained my requirement. I required a Innova or similar car in a very good condition because of the kids (11 and 6) and parents (70+) for the trip. My first experience was very pleasant - with Subhas personally helping me plan the trip (starting from New Jalpaiguri Railway ... continue reading

  • high quality guide in or around Darjeeling

    Small blure, Germany - January 08, 2016

If you are looking for a high quality guide in or around Darjeeling look no further! We booked Ashmita for our seven days December trek around Singalila National Park in 2015. Ashmita offers one of the more expensive services in Darjeeling but their service is worth every rupee. Our guide spoke good English, was well connected to the locals, knowledgeable and very trustworthy. Lodging around the Singalila National Park range from VERY basic to basic. Ashmita always reserved the better ... continue reading

  • First class experience from Ashmita Trek and Tours

Stephen Scholey, United Kingdom - December 28, 2015

It is difficult to know where to begin reviewing Ashmita Trek. In some respects I feel as though I need to leave two reviews - one for the experience of trekking to see the magnificent sunrise over the Kanchenjunga mountain range, and a second review for Subash, owner of Ashmita Trek and his wonderful team. Both would receive a 5 / 5 in every respect! I came across Ashmita Trek in the months leading up to my visit to India ... continue reading

  • Great experience !

    Sayo Lida, Japan - December 26, 2015

I'm not experienced and have never treked for a couple of years. However, I'd like to go to the mountain in the north-east India and decided to trek there. As I had predicted, the treking was tough for me. But, the guid, Mr Pemba and the poter always supported me and arranged to my condition. Thanks to them, I could experience the amazing adventure which I had never imagined before. The experience will remain inside me forever. I'm sure that ... continue reading

  • Best trekking company in Darjeeling

James Smith, United States - December 15, 2015

Subash and his team organised an amazing 3 day trek (60km's) for my wife and I this November. Our guide Mr Vinod was excellent, very professional and made our trip up to the Sunrise Lodge to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas a memory we will never forget. Thank you for such an amazing experience. continue reading

  • Super helpful!

Robin Mills, United Kingdom - December 15, 2015

We popped into Ashmita to get some advice about the sleeper bus to Kolkata. The whole family was there. All delightful. Contacted another agency in Siliguri and sorted tickets for us, all at no cost. All the time being helpful and super friendly. We then waited while they spoke with other clients about trekking. Obviously knowledgeable, they were helpful and interested in finding the right trek for the clients rather than necessarily the most lucrative one for their business. Highly ... continue reading

  • Atmospheric walk up to Tonglu and beautiful sunrise

Simon Wilson, United Kingdom - December 09, 2015

Subash put together a special 2-day trek for us to fit in with the time we had. First day we walked up through some memorable Buddhist monasteries. Stayed in a comfortable (and sufficiently warm, which is great given the freezing weather in November) guesthouse at the top, and were provided with good home made food. The sunrise from the hill nearby was stunning, one of my highlights of India. We could see Everest in the distance. Our guide Chenning(?) was ... continue reading
