  • Wonderful trek along Singalila Ridge

    David j, United Kingdom - October 13, 2014

We met up with Subash in Darjeeling at Ashmita Trek and Tours and decided to undertake a six day darjeeling singalila ridge trek leaving the very next day, slightly nervous about how hard it would be. Everything was superbly organised and our guide Dawa couldn't have been more helpful throughout the trek, even bringing us tea in bed every morning. The trek itself was wonderful and not as hard as expected although the first climb was a bit of a ... continue reading

    K Chandra, India - September 28, 2014

We were a group of 8 senior citizens from Mumbai and Chennai on our first trip to Darjeeling. I had spent a lot of time on the net to locate accommodation and assistance in local sightseeing. I read through the reviews of Raj and got the reference of Ashmita Trek and Tours. I got in touch with Subash and booked two vehicles and paid up the money upfront. Subsequently, Subash also booked tickets for the toy train. The day we landed ... continue reading

    Laura F, United States - September 08, 2014

I traveled to India in August 2014 to attend a friend's wedding in Hyderabad, and had my heart set on visiting the Gangtok/Sikkim region as a side trip. I was nervous about traveling alone, so when I saw a glowing TripAdvisor review of Ashmita Trek & Tours from another solo woman traveler, I decided to put myself into their hands. Subash Tamang owns and runs this excellent operation (named for his daughter), and he replied promptly to my dozens of ... continue reading

  • Life-time moments on the Singalila Ridge darjeeling

    Rhyllen, United Kingdom - August 27, 2014

This was a highlight of our 8 months trip around India and Nepal, and that's saying a lot as we had a great deal of amazing experiences!! We do a fair bit of trekking but not often with a guide. As you need a guide to trek the Singalila ridge we wanted to make sure it was with someone who added to the experience rather than just supervise us around the trek. We found Subash's office next to our hotel ... continue reading

Hard walk with cold weather conditions but our guide cared very good about us and we had often a warm tea and best food. Aslo Ajay told us everything we wanted to know, about the landscape, religion, birds, other animals, people... and he speaks excellent english. • Wonderful Guides

    jephdo, United States - July 14, 2014

Subash is an extremely genuine and personable guide. The views on our trek were stunning, but what made the trip for me was getting to know Subash and his guide along the way. They're extremely knowledgeable and definitely give you the most value for your money. continue reading
