Sandakphu is situated in the northwest direction from Darjeeling, the highest point in West Bengal along the Indo-Nepal border. This place offers stunning sunrise and sunset views. It stands at an elevation of 3,636 meters (12,000 feet) above sea level. During springtime, you can witness a variety of flowers in bloom in this area. The best times to visit are from March to May and October to December. During these months, you'll experience breathtaking mountain views.

The 2-days Sandakphu jeep safari tour starts and finishes in Darjeeling. You will need to plan to arrive in Darjeeling one or two days before your trip departure. Road conditions to Tonglu-Sandakphu and Phalut

Darjeeling - Manebhanjan to Gairibas: This lower to middle section is mostly paved or concrete, offering a relatively smooth drive.
Gairibas to Sandakphu and Phalut: This section is a gravel road made of boulders, which makes the drive very bumpy and steep.

The journey to Sandakphu is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers, offering panoramic views of four of the world's six highest peaks, including Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga however this tour is not suitable for with asthma, back problems, high blood pressure, or blood disorders. It is also not recommended for adults over 65 years old or children under 5 years old.

The tour difficulty ranges from moderate to challenging. Because the peak reaches an altitude of approximately 12,000 feet, above sea lable oxygen levels are lower in Tonglu, Sandakphu, and Phalut. Consequently, a high level of physical fitness is required for all travelers.

Start your adventure with a warm welcome from the Ashmita Trek & Tours representative, Guide and driver who will meet you at your hotel in Darjeeling at 7:00 AM. After a short briefing, we begin our journey with a scenic one-hour jeep ride to the charming hill village town of Maneybhanjyang ( altitude of 2150 m)—the gateway to Sandakphu Singalila National Park. we complete the necessary forest entry, visa, and passport formalities at the check post Maneybhanjyang. Once the paperwork is done, your adventure drive through the lush forests of Singalila National Park Our route takes us through a series of picturesque Nepali and Indian border villages including Chitrey, Lamidura, Meghma, Tonglu, Tumling, Gairibas, and Kalapokhri. Along the way, we stop for lunch, tea breaks, and photo opportunities, giving you ample time to soak in the serene landscapes, mountain views, and rich biodiversity.

By 3:00–4:00 PM, we reach the legendary viewpoint of Sandakphu (3636 m / 12,000 ft)—the highest peak in West Bengal. After checking in to your accommodation, you will have time to refresh before we take you to witness a breathtaking sunset over the world’s tallest mountain ranges. From Sandakphu, you can enjoy a rare 360° panorama stretching from Mt. Kanchenjunga (the Sleeping Buddha range) all the way to Mt. Everest, including majestic peaks such as Makalu, Lhotse, Pandim, Simvo, Kumbhakarna, Kabru, and Chomolhari. Overnight stay in a cozy tea house or trekker’s hut.

After enjoying the sunrise, we return for a warm breakfast. Later, we drive on a scenic Jeep Safari from Sandakphu to Darjeeling, via including Manyvanjang, Tumling, and Kalapokhari. The routes we go from low to high altitudes so we suggest you as flowing equpment >> T- shirt, pentagon with cap Extra socks, a water proof jacket, (rain coat requred in ranny Season ) Down Jacket/ Light wind & water proof jacket , Inner sleeping sheet , Long sleeve T-shirts , Warm hat/ gloves, a good shoe, a sun protection cream. Woolen cap and hand gloves. Warm jacket or a sweater and also a wind-cheater.

Do cell phones work on the way to Sandakphu Tour ?

Darjeeling is the last place where you’ll get mobile network. Make sure you finish your important telephone calls before reaching Manyvanjang the starting point of your trek and Please inform family members about poor connectivity on the Tour.

The meals are included in our price of the tour and they are taken in lodges; we will have breakfast and dinner at the lodge where we stay overnights and our will guide will choose and stop for lunch on available place every day and we recommends you to bring water purification pills since you will have normal water for free, then you can have the normal water and use the medicine and drink however you have options of buying bottled water or boiled water in every places as well.
